Are you into the Grateful Dead, Jack Johnson, Donavon Frankenreiter, Tom Petty, Bob Marley??? There are too many classic rock and hard rock bands in the area. This is something different. We are tired of going to see different bands who pretty much play the same songs. (You WILL NOT have to play Mustang Sally in this band). We are mostly funky, heavier at times but always with a groove. Perfect for…

I have a high interest in playing all sorts of music. I know how to play the Guitar, Bass, and Piano. A lot of people say I could do great things in Music. But I'm just lacking one Important thing. I don't have a band. I mean my friends and I want to start a band. But we are all lacking time and a place. So I'm working on that. In the mean-time I have been writing Music. I write all sorts of music. So, that's some info on Down the Line.

Every artist wants their work to speak volumes. The amount of research that can end up going into a piece is often overlooked. SBTS had much on their plate with the title "Balance in Transformation". How does one visually represent this idea well. Guitarist Caleb Banas found the answer after many hours of encyclopedia reading.

This did happen, although not at a gun show. For many years The York Sports and Outdoor Show was, and still is held at the York Fairgrounds, now the York Expo Center, in February. I'm not sure about today, but in the seventies, it was promoted by the Issac-Walton League and they provided entertainment for one or two nights, usually a local bluegrass or CW band. It was the late 70's when the featured act was James "Rebel" O'Leary and The Rebelettes. The Rebel's 'PA' system and stage amplifiers al…

As an older and technically challenged musician, your patience is appreciated as I try to use this computer.
Not sure if i am navigating this correctly, but here goes:
The MAFIA LAWYER SCUM GUY>>>>> I know who he is!!!! i remember when he was a respected teacher a gazillion years ago.
Another advantage of advanced geezerism is that I also remember seeing the Rebel family convoying from one eatery to the next back in 60's or 70's. Never knew if anyone could play... just eat. Heard…

I propose a question to those who care (and those who don't), and I'll answer it to the best of my sleep-deprived and work-exhausted state of being.
Why does Shattered Beneath the Shade exist?
(The answer to this question is strictly Max's opinion as of July 4th, 2008)
We exist for love. Love of music. Love for ourselves. Love for each other. We love to perform together, we love to create something that is beyond ourselves, yet within ourselves. There is a voice within us that is difficult to…

The album release date has been set, and it is.... "Drum roll, please!".... January 30th @ The Depot in York, PA. Mark calendars, set reminders in your iPhone, do whatever you must to remember this important date. If a physical copy of the CD isn't important to you, we are going to work to get the album on CDBaby and Itunes. However, I can't promise it will be there January 30th... So, just go to The Depot and grab a copy.
We've had a good amount of time to discuss the future of SBTS, and I can…

A new Blues/Rock band will be appearing on the York area music scene real soon. Drummer Tom Dawes and Bob Rigel (me) recently met here on Scrapplehead, and with bassist Blaine Wyser, decided to put "Headshot" together. I have to admit, this is a great combination. We played a Labor Day party gig just three weeks after we first met, and had a blast! Be on the look-out for this new Power Trio and c'mon out and check out "Headshot" the first chance you get!
